Services

Over time we have focussed increasingly on ship inspection and repairs. We perform a number of specialized tasks in this area. During many years of operation we have successfully performed a variety of different tasks, from minor lifting jobs to minesweeping for the Navy. Our competency therefore extends way beyond our core activities, and we still perform all types of sub-surface work.

Professional execution of all assignments is guaranteed

These are some of the assignments we perform:

OV (Remotely operated vehicle)

Diving assignments

Inspection, filming & sample collection

Cable & pipe work

Search, lifting and salvage

Subsurface drilling & explosives

Excavation & flushing

Rock drilling

Mooring & Anker handling

Quay construction & repair

Sub-surface welding & torch cutting

Sand & dry ice blasting (over & under water)

Diving

Under the inspection of bridges, wharfs and dams, our Civil engineer Frode T. Nielsen leads the inspections. He does the diving himself to get the full overview. Frodes specialty is concrete constructions and geology, in addition to being a publicly licensed surveyor.

About our equipment

Our boats

Minor 34″

Minor 34″ has the advanced Jet Anchor system from HamiltonJet, and the dynamic positioning has 10cm accuracy.

This makes our uniquely qualified for wide range of assignments. When we for example collect sediments from the Ocean Floor annually, we have the ability to hit the same square meter every year, or anywhere else the customer may wish relative to the earlier positions. Maybe we’ll move a meter this year.

When we inspect wharfs the boat is very near the diver the whole time, and it lets us have good control over the divers position.

Hårek 22″

Our practical workboat on trailer, has an i-Pilot electric motor in the bow that has its own GPS. It has dynamic positioning with an accuracy of 3m.

For freshwater jobs, or assignments far away the “Hårek” is a good tool. The boat is rigged and ready in a warm wearhouse.

Both boats are equipped with:

– DP (dynamisk posisjonering)
– Radar
– Electronic map systems
– Autopilot
– VHF & AiS
– Sidescan sonar & towing sonar
– Winch for underwater soil sampling
– Equipped for diving & ROV use
– Top speed: 25 knots for “Hårek” and 38 knots for “Minor”

Here is a video that shows how stable a boat equipped with Jet Anchor realy is, this without the use of any kind of mooring or anchor:

Crane truck

We have our own crane truck, wich gives us the ability to respond quickly. The crane truck is a good tool for getting the job done in an efficient maner.

ROV

Remotely operated vehicle, often abbreviated to ROV.

We’ve had many different ROVs, and have now found the appropriate ROV for our needs. It weighs about 40kg, and has 7 powerful thrusters. The depth Rating is 500m.

Our ROV is equipped with: Real-time sonar that almost presents a picture-perfect image of the surroundings in front of the ROV. The ROVs positioning system makes it easy to find the ROVs position, and can make a map printout or a buoy list from where it’s driven. There’s an extra thruster socket that can be used for brush and cutting tools, or other tools for more specialized assignments. It can be fitted with a griping arm and a rope-cutter that cuts 32 mm ropes easily.
